Olive oil is a product made of olives and very popular among housewives and chefs. It adds a special flavor and smell to different dishes. It is very often used in Mediterranean cuisine. Also, it is used for producing cosmetics and soup. Monounsaturated fat acids form over 80 percent in the composition of the olive oil and help to increase the level of “good” cholesterol and reduces the level of “bad” one. Due to this, heart and blood vessel diseases are not so widespread among residents in the Mediterranean Sea region. Olive oil is also rich in vitamin E and polyphenols which are compounds reducing the oxidation of fatty acids and chances for getting cancer.
